Even though it’s been available from Radio Shack for a few days now, Virgin Mobile today officially announced the availability of the LG Optimus V, an Android-powered smartphone.

The LG Optimus V is available with Virgin’s Mobile Beyond Talk plans which start at $25 per month with unlimited web access. The Optimus V is nearly identical to Sprint’s Optimus S and it offers a 3.2-inch touchscreen, Android 2.2 Froyo, a 3.2MP camera, and more.

The Optimus V is available in Radio Shack and on Virgin Mobile’s website beginning today for $149.99. Virgin says the device will be available in other major retailers throughout the month as well.
