Not being a die-hard business customers but fall for a business-oriented handset all the same is something rather uncommon, but that´s exactly what happened when we tested the Nokia E71 last year. We fell for the cell phone on the spot, despite the few annoying issues that seemed to plague the handset. What we´ve got in our hands now is the heir apparent, the Nokia E72 and what we´ve seen so far tells us it´s far superior to its predecessor in every single respect.

The phone retains both the high build quality and compact size of the Nokia E71, but adds extra features like 5-megapixel camera (instead of 3.2), flash, 3.5mm jack and optical pad. The function keys have flattened and feel quite easier to press. The several minutes we´ve spent with the handset show us the keyboard has been vastly improved and its buttons now have proper, pronounced travel. The phone comes with pre-installed copy of Nokia Messaging to help you set up multiple email accounts in seconds.

It’s been a few months since Nokia’s X6 hit the scene, but the touchscreen-based, S60-lovin’ smartphone is just about ready to ship out to those who’ve managed to avoid all of the other stellar options that have launched since early September. It seems as if Nokia is gearing up to ship the phone in at least some parts of the world exactly a week from today in concert with a Rihanna release party. And if Expansys is correct, folks in the UK will see their orders ship out on November 12th. Too bad that £529.99 ($891) price tag is darn near debilitating, but hey, awesomeness has its price.

Sony Ericsson obviously feel pretty good about working with Symbian S60 touch-operated UI as they are about to launch a second handset running it after the Satio. Nicknamed Kurara, the subject of these shots is a full-touch handset that packs some serious imaging capabilities.

There’s still a pretty good chance that those photos are fan mockups but if they are not we have a pretty interesting handset coming our way. The Sony Ericsson Kurara is said to sport a 3.5″ AMOLED touchscreen and an 8MP camera. The cool part is that the camera will also be able to record HD video.

We suppose that the coming weeks will show if those are the first shots of a new multimedia flagship or simply a Sony Ericsson fan hard at work.

Opera portfolio is definitely a one-stop-shop for finding a proper mobile web browser whether you’re on a smartphone or a feature phone. The Opera Mobile browser has reached the beta stage of version 10 and is now available to Symbian S60 devices – both 3rd and 5th edition, so if you have a Symbian device, be it with a touchscreen or not, you’d want to try out this new version.

It brings the revamped interface, which we saw in the latest Opera Mini 5, complete with tabbed browsing and the speed dial interface. Tabs use a thumbnail of the page and seem very snappy. Check out the official demo video bellow to see them in action, along with the adaptive zoom feature.

Under the hood there are quite a few changes as well – Opera Mobile 10 uses the latest Presto engine, the same as in the desktop Opera 10 browser, and Opera advertize it as faster than the previous version in panning and zooming, and it should even opens pages 50% faster.

For an even bigger boost the new Opera Turbo feature is included, which reroutes traffic through Opera’s servers where content is crunched and compressed up to 70%. This brings down image quality but also data charges and can speed up browsing on a slow connection.

Opera Mobile 10 supports the latest web tech as well, including CSS 3 support (though not yet enabled in the beta version). The improved web standards support is touted to deliver a browsing experience that matches desktop browsing.

Helpful features like the password manager an address auto-completion plus image and webpage saving on the device are things we’re used to in desktop browsers and go a long way to provide the promised desktop-like experience.

Owners of Nokia and select Samsung and Sony Ericsson S60 smartphones are the first that can try it out. There’s no mention of a Windows Mobile version yet but don’t despare, Opera Mobile has been running on WinMo devices for quite a while, so one should come up soon.
