It has also launched the  Optimus Black which has a NOVA display. The company has also revealed that 40% of the phones LG would launch in 2011 would be Smartphones.

The Optimus 2X is a pretty well-speced handset with a 4 inch display, Tegra 2 Dual Core technology  , 8 MP camera with 1080p (full HD) video recording, 512 MB RAM, 8GB internal memory, HDMI

The Optimus Black sports a 4 inch NOVA display and is only a 9.2mm in terms of thickness.

LG has revealed the price of these 2 handsets. The Optimus 2X will retail for about Rs.30000 and the Optimus Black will be retailing for Rs.27000.

The Milestone 2 is a pretty neat Android handset running on Android 2.2( no gingerbread love yet ) powered by a 1 GHz CPU. Other noteworthy features include a 5MP Camera with 720p HD video, Flash Player , Full QWERTY keypad

The handset went on sale in Europe few weeks back and it’s launch expected in this part of the world.

The handset is pretty attractive in terms of looks and the curved glass display is pretty nice too. Although the handset is pretty fast, there have been mixed reactions from users about the battery life of the device with some stocking up on a  spare battery.

The India launch of the Nexus S has been making noise for quite sometime now and we are surprised about this piece of news when the world is waiting for the Galaxy S2 from Samsung.  We do not know if this is going to be just a temporary measure till the Galaxy S2 is ready to hit stores or there are plenty of unsold units. India never got the Nexus One so the Nexus S is surely welcome. We are not sure if Samsung managed to get Google’s seal of approval for the launch in India. April 1st week is not far away ,  so we should be finding out soon.

Features And Specs Of HTC Desire Z

Desire Z is powered by a 800 MHz Scorpion processor and is equipped with a 3.7 inches S-LCD capacitive touch screen. The phone coupled with QWERTY keypad and HTC Sense User Interface (UI) looks to give users a great experience. The phone offers standard connectivity options and the memory can be expanded to a staggering 32GB with the help of a microSD card slot. Desire Z boasts of a 5 mega-pixel camera which is capable of clicking pictures of resolution 2592×1944 pixels and the camera is integrated with advanced features like autofocus and LED flash.

Ajay Sharma, country head of HTC India said that HTC always endeavors to take cell phone experience to a newer level and HTC Desire Z is an example of it. He further said that the robust features of the phone will help users experience seamless connectivity and that the company is upbeat about the prospects of the phone in the Indian market. The phone can be snapped for Rs 25,590 from HTC resellers across India.

Online retailer Letsbuy is allowing interested folks in India to pre-order the phone for 36,000 INR (including a “booking price” of 1,000 INR). Translated into US dollars, that’s almost $800 which is a lot of money. Even if you’re that eager to grab it, you’ll still have to wait to get your hands on the Merge. The device will be shipped in “4-7 working days post launch date,” and since we don’t know when the launch date is, we don’t know the shipping date as well.

Specs wise, the HTC Merge is a version of the Desire Z (T-Mobile G2) with a slightly bigger screen (3.8 vs 3.7 inches) which is accomplished by removing the pretty useless optical trackpad — at least it’s useless on Android devices. Rest of the specs are identical and include such things as a 800MHz processor, QWERTY keyboard, 3G and WiFi connectivity, 5-megapixel camera and other “standard for Android” goodies.

I really, really don’t understand this. I can’t imagine that “Galaxy mini” means anything wrong in any language, but what do I know.

Anyway, India-based online retailer Flipkart allows interested folks to pre-order the Galaxy Pop / Mini for 8,999 INR, which is about $198. That money buys you an entry-level Android smartphone with a QVGA touchscreen, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD memory card slot and other “standard for Android” goodies.

Aside from India, the Galaxy Mini will also be launched in Europe and China, most likely starting this month. We’ve no doubts it will sell like hot cupcakes in all places where it is offered for free on a not-that-expensive contract.

The price of the HD7 has been indicated as Rs.29990 but you can find it in the market for as much as Rs.27000 approx.

The Lava A10 is priced at Rs.5499 and is available from all major mobile retailers across India.While the handset looks attractive , we are not convinced about the IPS display part until we play with this phone.

IPS stands for In Plane Switching and is a display technology which is used in devices such as the iPhone 4 and iPad

The Desire Z will also be launched soon but there is no clarity on the timeline.  Seems like there is more market demand for the Desire HD than Desire Z.

We are also hearing the retail price will be around Rs.35000 for the Desire HD in India and the handset is already available in grey market without warranty for Rs.40000 and above. We are also hearing that the grey market price is getting reduced as the official launch is nearing.
