Nokia’s newfound commitment to CDMA isn’t just a US effort — it’s a big deal in China, too, where a beefy percentage of the world’s CDMA users reside. On that note, the company has introduced the Asian market to three new models today spanning the low end to the midrange, but if you’re outside China, we wouldn’t get our hopes up for a launch in your neck of the woods. Starting at the bottom we’ve got the 1506, an ultra-basic candybar with an integrated voice recorder and speakerphone; it’s being billed as Nokia’s cheapest CDMA device yet. Next is the 3806, which steps up to a QVGA display, Bluetooth 2.1 support, and support for external storage up to 4GB — but maybe the most notable feature here is the inclusion of a “Health Assistant” app that allows “you to stay healthy, which ultimately, allows you to stay happy.” We’re all for phones that keep us happy around here. Finally, the 6316s slider is the beast of the bunch with GPS and EV-DO for China Telecom’s 3G network plus a 2 megapixel camera, but you’ll be waiting a while — it and the 3806 won’t be hitting until the first quarter of next year, while the 1506 comes into play by the end of ’09.

Samsung has launched a new touchscreen phone in the world’s biggest telecom market. The phone’s design is reminiscent to Samsung Star and features support for 3G CDMA2000 1X EVDO (China Telecom), 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen display (240×400), 3MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, FM Radio, 100MB internal memory with microSD card slot (up to 8GB), DivX video playback support, Office docs support and 1000mAh battery.

There’s no word on the exact price but doesn’t look like it will break the bank.

More interesting Philips phones have appeared lately, two of them being the Philips X806 and Philips C702.

Both of them are touchscreen phones that will probably be released in China pretty soon.

The Philips X806 is a 14mm thick phone that comes with features like: 3.5 inch TFT display with 240 x 400 pixels, 5MP camera, Bluetooth, FM radio, 47MB of internal memory and MicroSD card support.

Unfortunately, the phone only has quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity. Well, at least it looks good:

Next, the Philips C702 is a CDMA 1X phone that seems to be heading to China Telecom (it has its logo on it).

The features of C702 include: 3.4 inch QVGA display, GPS, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth, 70MB of internal memory and MicroSD card support.

We also have most of the specs of Philips V900, China Mobile’s Android smartphone seen back in August. The handset will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3MP camera, 256MB of internal memory and MicroSD card support.
