Update: If you were wondering about the difference between the Bravo and the recently leaked Passion, there is none other than the branding apparently. We’re also hearing that the above handset will be available in the US in January, a cool three months ahead of the expected European release.

Yesterday we reported that SoftBank is coming out with 17 phones for the winter, and one of them was the Toshiba Dynapocket X02T.

The Dynapocket is what many see as an iPhone clone, and it runs on Windows Mobile 6.5. It also has a 3G network, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a 3.2 Megapixel camera, plus access to YouTube and Windows Marketplace for Mobile.

Dell’s Mini 3iX Android phone seems to be closer and closer. The phone has been spotted in Brazil which means that we might see it soon appear in various markets around the world.

Verison 3iX of the phone is rumored to be an upgraded version of the 3i Chinese version initially developed by Dell. The 3iX is going to sport Wi-Fi, 3G/HSDPA (850/1900/2100MHz) a 3-megapixel camera, a 3.5-inch touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, AGPS, Bluetooth, microSD card support and multitouch support. The interface has been completely changed and the 3iX looks more like an Android phone than the 3i.

The phone is rumored to be released by AT&T in the USA at some point in the future although there are no details to indicate a precise date. Pricing details also lack at this time as we might have to wait a while until the phone becomes official. What do you say? A new accessory has been launched for BlackBerry users to see what’s going on with their favourite device without having to take it out their pocket.

The inPulse Smartwatch is made by Allerta, a new company based near RIM in Waterloo, Canada.

It features a 1.3-inch OLED display and Bluetooth connectivity to let you know when you’re getting new messages on your handset, with a little vibrating motor to discreetly alert you when said info arrives.

Four days ‘normal use’

Four days battery life is currently being quoted for the inPulse, and a 30 minute charging time via microUSB connection.

And while it sounds super cool and space age, it’s essentially an extended screen for your BlackBerry, with no functionality included to message back or respond in any way.

It’s coming in at around £90 when launched in the US next February, with no UK release date given (or even hinted at right now), but we’d expect it will show up on our shores at some point in the future, especially if it’s a success in the US.

Sony Ericsson has launched the availability of their latest mobile device via T-Mobile USA with the Sony Ericsson Equinox. The Equinox is a new chic handset that features pulsating night effects that make sure you don’t miss a call or text message paired with an interactive 3G and its built-in GPS system. Other features of this latest Sony Ericsson mobile phone include a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, and gesture controls that allow users to reject calls or put the phone in silent mode with one wave of the hand. The Sony Ericssson Equinox will also be officially available online by October 28, 2009.

Remember August 2009? It was a simpler time; a time before the nation had to worry that whatever was on the news was just the result of giving a 6-year old and his dastardly parents a big-ass balloon. Right around that time, word got out that RIM was cracking away at a Bluetooth watch for the BlackBerry line, only to disappear off the radar entirely – until today.

CrackBerry, proving their prowess amongst BlackBerry blogs, has verified that the project is as real as can be and brought the pudding to prove it. They’ve got not one, but two renders of the (surprisingly basic looking) device, along with a handful of details:

* It’s been designed from the ground up for BlackBerry compatability

* “Big, bright, and beautiful” OLED screen

* Primarily intended for showing incoming calls/messages

* Based on the filename of the leaked renders, it might be called the “inPulse”.

The Wi-Fi Alliance has announced Wi-Fi Direct, a new specification that will enable WiFi devices to discover and connect to one another without a router, a move that could potentially threaten Bluetooth technology.

Wi-Fi Direct will allow WiFi enabled devices such as phones, cameras, printers, computers, keyboards, and headphones to connect on a one-to-one basis or several at a time. Standard data rates and connection ranges (100m) will be supported, so any device could make use of high-speed bandwidth provided by a broadband connection.

Though ad hoc connections are already available within the current WiFi specifications, the new discovery features will make it easy for devices to find each other. The trade association will certify devices for Wi-Fi Direct starting in mid-2010.

Alltel Wireless launched the LG AX310 handset that features voice-activated calling, a one-touch speakerphone and Bluetooth capabilities.

lgax310-111The phone includes a 1.3 megapixel camera with zoom and it also features speaker-independent voice commands and allows users to record and save voice memos.

The LG AX310 is available in two colors – black and red and priced at $29.99 after a $30 mail-in rebate with activation of a 1-year service contract on a qualifying rate plan.

Alltel continues to be the only major wireless carrier to offer 2-year postpaid handset pricing to those signing 1-year contracts, creating enhanced flexibility and greater choice for customers.

The LG AX310 and 1-year contract option is available only to customers in the 91 cellular market areas (CMAs) that Verizon Wireless is required to divest, which will continue to operate as Alltel Wireless until the sale agreements with AT&T and Atlantic Tele-Network are approved by the Department of Justice and Federal Communications Commission.
