Just like its brother, the X8, the Sony Ericsson W8 sports a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a 3.2MP camera. Under the hood there’s a 600MHz single-core processor ticking, with 168MB of RAM.

The W8 will run Android 2.1, which is a bit unfortunate, as most Droids on the market are now running Froyo or even Gingerbread. Nevertheless, this is the first Walkman phone to run the Google mobile OS, which will be covered by the Timescape UI.

Being a Walkman, the phone will come with Sony Ericsson’s stereo headset, the MH410.

The Sony Ericsson W8 will be available in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam starting from Q2 2011 in a choice of colors – Azure Blue, Metallic Red, and Iconic Orange. Pricing is yet unknown, though.

The news is coming from the Indian website AndroidOS.in, which got information from one of its tipsters. In other words, this isn’t 100% confirmed and you/we will have the definite information later in the day.

Price wise, it is said that Motorola will ask about 20,000 INR ($438) for the unlocked device. At present, we don’t know whether some of the many carriers operating in India will offer the device with a contract.

Although the Defy runs Android 2.1, the American handset maker promised to release the Froyo (Android 2.2) firmware update during the second quarter to enable better Microsoft Exchange support, improved browser, hotspot creation and more.

Specs wise, Moto’s smartphone comes with a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, HSPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD slot.

The Apex is equipped with a 3.2-inch 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen display. It has a 3 megapixel camera with flash that’s capable of recording video in a 640 x 480 resolution. LG says its 1,500mAh battery should be good for up to 7 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.

The LG Apex will launch on November 19 in U.S. Cellular locations and online for $79.99 after an $80 mail-in rebate.

T-Mobile didn’t find it worthy of an OTA update, so if you’re looking to update your Garminfone, you’ll have to do it manually. Luckily, manually updating software is fairly easy on Android. Even after the update, the handset may not be your first choice in Android phones, but we’re definitely glad it has been given a nice step up with Android 2.1. Will this make the handset more desirable? Sure. Would we recommend it? Not really.

Any Android update that’s takes the Garminfone past Android 1.6 OS is a good thing, so there’s already some value being added to the handset. If you’re one of those who purchased the handset, you may want to update your software as soon as possible. If you’ve had no qualms with the Garminfone, then you’ll definitely realize what you’ve been missing all along.

It would be nice to see this handset get the Android 2.2 Froyo update at some point, and I don’t see why it wouldn’t. If a much older phone like the MyTouch 3G can receive Froyo, then the Garminfone should be able to handle the update. We’re not holding our breath, but it should have the guts inside to be able to support at least one more Android OS update.

You will need to update your handset manually since this update is not available Over-The-Air (OTA). It is advised to backup all your data before updating the device.

After missing the Q2 update window, the update is finally here to give your CLIQ some new life, which indeed does fall into the updated time-line Moto released back in August. The Motorola site outlines just how to do this from your SD card, and it’s pretty simple.

Sure, there’s been an unofficial builds of Android 2.1 for the CLIQ out for some time now, but it’s nice to see that Motorola officially bringing the real deal to the show.

As for the CLIQ XT, which was also given the same update timeline as the original, we still have no word on when an Android 2.1 Eclair update will be available. For now, CLIQ users will be the first to get the Eclair treatment, and with it comes the new version of MotoBlur. One notable thing about the newer version of MotoBlur is that you can resize some of the widgets, which will allow you to have more space on one homescreen. We’re not terribly in love with MotoBlur, but resizable widgets is definitely a nice feature to have.

As far as the Eclair update itself, users can expect to see more pre-installed Google apps bloatware and more homescreen panels, giving you a total of 7, and enhancements throughout. The Google apps have been updated so Cliq owners can get the best version available for the device, but one of the best benefits about this update is in the Android Market. Applications that were built with Android 2.1 or higher in mind will now be supported on the Cliq.

Being a navigation centric phone it provides for several modes of navigation including in-car navigation and pedestrian navigation.  The Android smartphone provides an offline navigation experience at par with full fledged navigation systems. The smartphone comes with a 5MP camera and a memory card slot which supports upto 16GB of data.

The Garmin-Asus A10 available in major metro cities including Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata at INR 18,990/-.

On the back is a 5 megapixel camera along with a dual LED flash to light subjects in dark lighting conditions.

For connectivity it has Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and we assume WiFi although this isn’t specifically mentioned.

Other features include 1GB of NAND Flash and 512MB of SDRAM. An 8GB microSD card is provided with the smartphone.

We do not know prices just yet although we have heard it is headed to SK Telecom and will be made available at the end of this month.

This thing has a 3.1″ touchscreen, a sliding QWERTY keyboard (likely landscape), runs Android 2.1, and has Wi-Fi, a-GPS, a digital compass, and Bluetooth. FCC filings suggest the Motorola Sage is bound for AT&T with quad-band EDGE and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. So far, it has all the fixings for a high-end handset, but that’ll be confirmed once we learn what kind of resolution the screen is packing, and what the camera’s like. It seems more likely that the Motorola Sage will act as a lower-end alternative to the Droid 2. A keyboard that looks something like the Cliq wouldn’t be surprising.

The M511 FlipOut runs Android 2.1 with MotoBlur, features a full QWERTY keyboard and comes with integrated social networking services, including a Sina application (Sina is the largest infotainment website in China).

The handset also features 3G, Wi-Fi, WAPI, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio, 3MP camera, and MicroSD card support up to 32GB.

Like in Europe, the phone will have lots of color versions.
