The BlackBerry Torch is slowly moving towards Canadian consumers and it looks like both Rogers and Telus will launch RIM’s latest smartphone on September 24. Rogers was initially said to sell the Torch 9800 on September 15 but it looks like you’ll have to wait just a little longer to get it.
Rogers is going to sell this BlackBerry for $199 with a new three-year contract and Telus will probably match that price although we still need to have confirmation on those particular pricing details.
The BlackBerry Torch is currently the only RIM device that comes with both a touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard and it’s the only BlackBerry that runs the latest OS, version 6.0. The Torch has been selling in the USA since August 12 from AT&T without being the hit smartphone RIM wants it to be, so better think twice before choosing it as your next handset.
