Motorola’s life-proof phone, the Defy, is set to get the Android 2.2 Froyo update sometime in Q2 of 2011. We’ve seen Moto delay updates more than once before, but at least they are giving themselves an ample amount of time to get Froyo out the door.

Acer made a number of announcements which included some new Android tablets and a new smartphone. Acer's latest smartphone, currently unnamed, is powered by Android and sports a 4.8-inch LED backlit display with a 1024 x 480 pixel resolution.

Nokia announced two new devices one of which is the Nokia X2-01, a Series 40 feature phone with a full QWERTY keyboard.

MetroPCS announced that it will launch the LG Optimus M as its first no-contract Android smartphone.
The LG Optimus M runs Android 2.2 Froyo and offers a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, and more. Unlike other LG Optimus devices, the Optimus M doesn't appear to offer portable Wi-Fi hotspot support.
