Very interesting news coming through the grapevine right now, we’re hearing that the new Sidekick phone could be based on Android, if true, this woule be big news and really would give Android that extra boosts to kick some serious ass in the smartphone market.

The device is said to be the Sidekick Twist, apprently there is something over at T-Mobile called Project Emerald and this Sidekick meet Android combination is stemming from that project. Like every Sidekick handset, this upcoming Android based beast will not be a slouch, the specs are pretty impressive, this could mean T-Mobile boys are no longer planning on targeting the teenage market alone, but everyone and their mom.

What we know so far, the Sidekick Twist will should feature Android 2.1, 1GHz Qualcomm processor, front facing camera for video calling, 16GB of storage and a huge 4.3 AMOLED display, all i can say is, this phone is gonna rock socks.
