The next hot thing coming from Verizon is a new Motorola Android device. The Motorola Droid 2 is obviously the successor of the original Droid and the phone has been recently spied in the wild.

The Moto Droid 2 is expected to arrive at some point in August with August 12 being the most likely release date. Verizon is yet to make the announcement so we’ll have to wait for the phone to become officially official.

Like the Droid, the Droid 2 is a smartphone coming with a full QWERTY keyboard, so those of you not especially impressed by the Motorola Droid X will probably choose this Android device. The phone is also expected to offer Android 2.2 Froyo support straight out-of-the-box, so that’s one more reason to be waiting for it.
