LG has introduced a new sleek and compact smartphone, the Pecan. The Pecan is an affordable Android smartphone that features a TFT capacitive touchscreen display that offers a great platform for the on-screen virtual QWERTY keyboard for text input as well as video watching and browsing.
The Pecan offers Google’s Android 2.2 operating system and features access to all of Google’s mobile services, including Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, and Google Maps. The device offers 3G HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as offering a 3.15 megapixel camera for photos and video.
Other features include GPS, Bluetooth, an FM radio, email and IM support, and a battery that is good for up to 14 days of standby time or up to 5 hours of talk time. Pricing and availability has not been announced, but the Pecan will be offered by Orange UK as part of the carrier’s PayG line-up.
