The LG Ally isn’t the most popular Android smartphone coming from Verizon and yet it’s still scheduled to receive Android 2.2 Froyo at some point in the future. The LG Ally has been announced earlier this year and it hasn’t been included in the popular Verizon Droid line but the Ally can’t be really compared to the Motorola Droid, Droid X or HTC Droid Incredible and it’s not an Android bestseller device.
With all this in mind it’s still interesting to see LG commit to upgrade the Ally to Froyo, especially since the phone doesn’t really have a future, does it? We have no release date for the Android 2.2 update but something tells me that we’re only going to see the Ally get Froyo after the flagship Android phones get it.
As for the Motorola Droid, Motorola Droid X and HTC Droid Incredible, they’re all scheduled for some Froyo love, but we have no idea when the updates will hit.
