Orange UK has made the HTC Desire S Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone available for purchase.
The Desire S is an update to last year’s Desire, and features a 3.7-inch screen and a 1GHz processor. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the latest version of HTC’s Sense interface. The Desire S is also the first HTC device that supports Orange’s Signal Boost, a UMA(INFO) system that lets the phone connect to Orange’s voice and data network over a home or office Wi-Fi connection.
Orange has priced the smartphone at free with a service plan of 35 GBP per month or higher. Interested customers can head to an Orange shop to pick up the phone.
