From what we can tell, the camera and memory are the only updates the 9780 makes on the BlackBerry Bold 9700; the rest, like HVGA display, 624 MHz processor, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, and hardware layout are all the same. It does make us wonder if the 9700 will actually get OS 6 like RIM said, though. Considering how much of the BlackBerry 9780 we’ve seen lately, it wouldn’t be surprising to have it launch before the end of the year. Hints have pointed to an October launch on AT&T.

The sellers from a place called GSMHookup, were selling the BlackBerry 9780 for $630 so long as they were in stock.

Nokia C6-01 is believed to come with a 360 x 640 pixel touchscreen display, 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, HD (720p) video recording, 3G Connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB, GPS, 32GB expandable memory, 3.5mm audio jack and Ovi Maps. It is rumored that C6-01 does not have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

We will have to wait till the official announcement for the price and complete specs. Nokia C6-01 will be available in black and white colors and its retail price is rumored to be around 280 euro

While all carriers are selling older iPhones models, the latest iPhone 4 is exclusive to T-Mobile DE. Currently, its price starts from 1 euro when purchased together with a 2-year contract.

T-Mobile Germany has already sold good 1.9 million iPhones across the country despite the delayed iPhone 4 shipments (some customers had to wait 9 weeks for the coveted device).

The latest rumor is T-Mobile is about to lose its exclusivity for Apple’s toy in Germany in October, which will allow the other two companies to get in on the action. There is no word from either of the companies yet but according to the WSJ the negotiations are in an advanced stage.

It’s not like we haven’t seen this scenario: last year the same thing happened to O2 UK who lost its iPhone exclusivity in the UK weeks just before the holiday season and Vodafone and Orange were allowed to join the game.

“Vodafone’s aim is to offer all customers new and attractive ways to enjoy mobile data, on the move, across a variety of devices,” said Patrick Chomet, Group Director of Terminals at Vodafone. “Adding tablets as part of our device range is a natural next step that gives customers an alternative way to enjoy great content and internet services. The GALAXY Tab is another showcase for Samsung’s innovation capabilities and we’re pleased to be introducing this across a number of our markets”.

Pricing has not been announced at this time, but Vodafone expects that the device will be available from the majority of its European markets in October.

Rogers is going to sell this BlackBerry for $199 with a new three-year contract and Telus will probably match that price although we still need to have confirmation on those particular pricing details.

The BlackBerry Torch is currently the only RIM device that comes with both a touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard and it’s the only BlackBerry that runs the latest OS, version 6.0. The Torch has been selling in the USA since August 12 from AT&T without being the hit smartphone RIM wants it to be, so better think twice before choosing it as your next handset.

Luckily, Samsung and O2 have been nice enough to throw owners of the Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500 a bone with the Android 1.6 update. This isn’t exactly the biggest leap forward considering the devices ships with Android 1.5 and is still a ways off from Android 2.2 but it’s definitely getting there.

This Android 1.6 update will bring with it a new Android Marketplace, and Google’s built-in speech-to-text feature. Sounds good to me.

The DEFY comes with Adobe Flash Lite support for the Webkit-based browser built-in and offers Motorola’s MOTOBLUR social networking and messaging user interface extensions, which include an array of home screen widgets. There is support for IMAP/POP and Exchange email as well as Gmail, and many different social networks, such as Twitter and Facebook, can be easily integrated and imported as contacts. Users should appreciate the built-in Swype text input system since there is no hardware keyboard on the DEFY.

The Motorola DEFY features a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash. A music player is also available, and it can be used with both wired 3.5mm headphones as well as with wireless Bluetooth headphones and headsets, and media can also be accessed through the phone’s DLNA(INFO) support. A full suite of Google apps are also available on the phone, including Calendar, Latitude, Google Maps Navigation with Street View, and Google Search By Voice.

No word yet on pricing or availability of the Motorola DEFY.

Of course, the only thing different here is the color of the device, all of the new Curve goodness is still packed-in. You’ll still find the 2 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad, 2.4″ display, WiFi, GPS and more… it’s all there, in a much ‘smokier’ package.

Pricing on the smokey violet 9300 is the same as its silver/chrome counterpart. $49.99 on a 3-year term, $299.99 on a 2-year, $349.99 on a 1-year and month-to-month… Finally, you can pick up the device only for $399.99.

Launched at the end of 2009, the original Milestone was an impressive piece of kit, but a year on it definitely needs an update, and the Milestone 2 adds a faster processor, much improved keyboard, more internal memory, Android 2.2 and full Flash support out-of-the-box and HD video capture.

The new 1GHz processor is probably the key hardware improvement on the Motorola Milestone 2 – the old 600MHz unit wasn’t exactly slow, but when compared with a 1GHz device such as the HTC Desire then the differences became apparent, particularly with games and animated wallpapers. Internal memory is now a substantial 8GB, up from the measly 133MB in the original which could cause problems with loading new applications. The keyboard on the original Milestone was also pretty awful, and now it has been redesigned with bigger and better keys and a more efficient layout.

One of the strongest points in the original handset was the display and this is unchanged, a pin sharp 3.7″ 480 x 854 pixel capacitive TFT panel with Gorilla Glass to protect it from scratches.

On the back, the camera remains a 5 megapixel unit with autofocus and dual-LED flash. Video capture is now 720p HD video at 30 frames per second which is quite a bit better than the original. Inside the Motorola Milestone 2 supports WiFi (including 802.11n), HSDPA and HSUPA high-speed data and also quad-band GSM.

It’s a pretty heavy device at 169 grams, but it measures a pocket-friendly 116 x 61 x 14mm. The 1400 mAh battery is the same as before, but Motorola haven’t quoted how much life they expect owners to get from it.

Multimedia support includes the usual Android media player, a 3.5mm audio socket but again there is no FM radio. The Milestone 2 uses the same multimedia dock as the original which can be a useful thing to have.

GPS is included of course, and the Milestone 2 has Google turn-by-turn navigation. If you are travelling to different countries then you will probably want a standalone SatNav application installed to save roaming charges. There’s a digital compass too, and the Milestone 2 will geo-tag your photographs for you.

This is an Android 2.2 (Froyo) device, and now Motorola have added their MOTOBLUR service on top of it to keep track of contacts and social networking sites. Android 2.2 includes full Flash support and all the other usual Google software.

One other omission with the original Milestone was a lack of tethering, so you couldn’t easily use the phone as a modem for a laptop. This has all changed, and the Milestone 2 can now be turned into a wireless hotspot that supports up to 5 client devices.

Although Motorola count the original Milestone as being a sales success, they mostly sold as SIM-free devices through specialist retailers rather than as contract phones. Motorola must be hoping for more uptake from carriers on this one to make the Milestone 2 a real sales success. We have no guidance on price at the moment, but it will probably retail for the better part of €500 when it hits the market sometime before the end of the year.

Specs wise, we’re talking about an iDEN-based device which obviously enables push-to-talk capability. Moreover, there are two screens (2.2-inch QVGA internal and 1.8-inch 128×160 external), 2-megapixel camera with digital zoom, media player with dedicated music/video playback keys, Bluetooth and a microSD memory card slot. Of course, tons of Ferrari branded content is pre-loaded with the i897, including skins and themes, wallpapers, video clips, ringtones as well as the Ferrari GT: Evolution game by Gameloft.

The Motorola i897 Ferrari Special Edition is available in two colors – red and yellow.
