Today Dell officially announced its Android powered Dell Streak tablet, and said that it will launch exclusively on O2 in the U.K. beginning in early June. Dell also said that the tablet will be available in the United States later this summer. During the Citrix Energy Conference, Dell’s CEO Michael Dell said that it would be available on AT&T in the U.S., according to Engadget.
The Dell Streak offers a 5-inch display and Dell hopes its formfactor will be the sweet spot between smartphones and larger tablets. It’s powered by a 1GHz processor, and will run Android 2.2 later this year with full Adobe Flash 10.1 support, a feature that the Apple iPad lacks.
Specs include a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a VGA front-facing camera, WiFi, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps 3G, and Bluetooth connectivity, and 2GB of dedicated storage. A microSD card slot supports up to 32GB of additional storage.
Dell did not announce a specific launch date for the Streak, and also did not discuss pricing.
