The Chinese are gearing up for an Android invasion come next May 2010, the Chinese manufacture Aigo, has two sleek looking Android MIDs and these things are rumored to be on the cheap. So you may be wondering what these two MIDs will be called, well unfortunately the chosen name is AigoPad, I mean, seriously? Couldn’t they come up with something better, why does devices like these have to suffer the name of the Pad? I think the iPad is enough.
The report entails that the Aigo boys are developing a 5″ and 7″ AigoPad called the E500 and E700 respectively, both devices will be running Android 1.6 but as of now, details are scarce on when both MIDs will be upgraded to Android 2.1 if ever. What might catch your attention is the availability of a capacitive touchscreen which supports multi-touch, hopefully they won’t get sued by Apple in the long run.
Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooh, a Rockchip 2808 processor, 720p HD video playback, eBook reader and 4-16GB built in storage. With those specs the AigoPad appears to be a well capable device, plus you can’t beat the price when rumors has it that $220 USD is the price targeted.
